You are in dark. You hear the booming of thunder close by.
This is a small palm-thatch hut. The exit lies west.
This is the village of the natives who gave you shelter last night ... or
rather what's left of it. There is a small hut to the East and a dark
jungle to your south.
This is the deep dark jungle, and it appears to continue in all
directions.
This is a clearing in the jungle created by the crashed 727 jetliner that
fills most of it. An open door is directly above you.
This is the first class compartment, hate to see tourist right? The
cockpit is north and tourist class is south, and the clearing is
downward.
This is the cockpit of the plane. First class is south.
This is the tourist class. First class is north.
This is the dock. There is a boat tied up to the south, a tool shed to
the north, and the jungle to the west.
This is the toolshed. Boy, compared to this place my room is spotless.
The dock is to the south.
There is a cabin here. The bridge is above you and the water below you.
This is the boat's cabin.
This is the boat's bridge.
This nice warm seawater. The boat is above you and more water below you.
The surface lies above you and the bottom below you.
This is an ancient lava flow. The surface lies above you, and a cave
below you.
This is the bottom of the sea. The surface lies above you.
This is the surface. Water lies all around you. The bottom is below you.
This is a huge cave formed by the ancient lava flow.
This is a large and long tunnel formed by the ancient lava flow. It
stretches both north and south.
This is a maze of many smaller intersecting lava tunnels.
The roof here has developed cracks lined with brightly colored corals
through which tinted shafts of sunlight glow.
A strange place this is. The water even feels strange.
Sunlight shines down from above. There is an exit to the south and a
sluice gate blocks the tunnel to the north.
This is a partially flooded cave. Sunlight shines through a hole in the
ceiling. There is a ladder clamped to a ledge above you.
This is a badly neglected garden at the base of an old lighthouse. The
door is to the north while jungle lies east and west.
This is the interior of the lighthouse. All is dust and disuse. A spiral
staircase leads up, a door is to the south, and a kitchen is to the
west.
This is the top of the lighthouse. From here you can see the whole
island.
Boy, old mother Hubbard thought she had it bad. This place is so bare it
doesn't even have a cupboard; the dust has to settle for settling on the
floor.
This looks out on the wide expanse of the cove. The water lies below you,
and a stairway leads up here.
On the surface. The jetty is above you and the bottom below you.
Brightly colored corals and sponges make up this reef. The surface is
above you.
The hull of the ship looms next to you.
Under the stern of the wreck. The rudder and prop have broken off leaving
gaping holes to the north and above you.
This is a compartment within the wreck.
On the surface. This is a grotto of sorts formed within the wreck by the
collapsing of the hull.
This is the engine room, or what's left of it, the collapsed hull has
left exits east and west. There is a large boiler to the north.
This is the coal bunker, and in keeping with its name, it is full of
coal.
This is the hold. An exit lies south and you can see the surface above
you.
This appears to be a galley. There is an exit to the east.
This is the north end of a corridor. At the south end you can see a guard
sitting at a desk. There is a door to the north and exits east and west.
This is the interrogation room. Nice place to visit but ...
These are the quarters for the relief guards.
This is the guard station. There are several large cells here. There is
an elevator to the south.
Inside the elevator. The only apparent way out is north.
This is an airstrip built on the summit of the island. The elevator lies
south while to the north a helicopter readies for takeoff.
This is the slightly damaged interior of the helicopter. The main door is
to the south.
This is a secluded beach. Not another girl in sight. You have the place,
and Todd, all to yourself.
Not exactly a 36-24-36, but what do you expect from a 15-year old.
He appears to have fainted.
It looks like a giant octopus. In fact it is a giant octopus.
He looks like your average terrorist leader. Facial scar, beady eyes,
etc.
He looks like a cross between a fish and your last blind date.
It looks like large blue fish with a beak like a parrot's.
He looks like a large green taking bird with an irritating personality.
They are the people who were on the plane with you.
He's wearing what looks like an oxygen suit.
She looks like the slightly sunburnt, blond haired, blue eyed, well
developed teenager standing between you and Todd.
They are the usual mob of fanatical kill-crazed mercenaries.
He looks like one of those very adorable, athletic, dream-hunks girls
like you develop crushes on.
They look very complicated but a few features seem important.
It appears to be tan in color.
The water is so shallow its almost green. A partially submerged shipwreck
aground on a reef seems to be the only noticeable landmark.
From what you can remember from your grade 11 physics class interrupting
the flow through the induction coil should do the trick.
It is a cylindrical object with one end rounded and the other fixed with
some sort of tail fin.
Formed by the rim of an extinct volcano it is roughly shaped like a horse
shoe with a wide cove in the center.
It is about 10 meters long and looks like a mutant grouper.
It appears to be some sort of uniform.
Instead of labels the buttons on it are color coded. You have no idea
which one does what.
It appears to be covered with some sort of tan colored coral.
There's a long tube down the middle of it just big enough to squeeze
through.
It appears to be sleeping.
They appear to be sleeping.
It is a small hollow table made from pieces of rock piled together.
It looks like it is intended to accept some sort of card.
There appears to be just enough room for you to squeeze between them.
Your equipment is another problem.
It reads "Automated Lighthouse. Keep out. (key is under the mat).
It looks like it held a mixer.
A Kraken is a mutated octopus. And in keeping with that tradition they
are great lovers of shellfish as well as being extremely playful.
Colonel Henrick Malevic. The leader of a band of terrorists who shot down
the plane you were on and took everyone prisoner. You of course escaped.
Merman. A male mermaid. Created by making someone watch 20 hours of John
Stoneman films.
This is the guy responsible for all those mutations you've had to deal
with. Such as John Stoneman's TV-series.
The girl who is Cindy's rival in regards to Todd's attentions.
The boy whom Cindy has a mad crush on, but he has eyes for someone else.
Device which displays tank pressure and depth information.
A tan colored coral that contains a venom that creates burn like wounds.
A lycra bodysuit worn by divers to protect them from jellyfish and
coral.
An item to which a scuba tank can be attached and is worn on a diver's
back.
A type of giant seabass. Some believe that a Jewfish was the whale that
swallowed Jonah. You see they inhale their food.
A marine navigational aid. Gives position relative to original or stored
position.
The device that connects to a diver's tank and through which he
breathes.
This is one of the five. SEE sharks.
Only 5 of the almost 300 species are dangerous. SEE Tiger Shark, Water.
According to the island's natives this object is suppose to give the
holder protection from dangerous animals.
Underwater Propulsion Vehicle. Can move a diver at a speed slightly
faster than he can normally swim.
An inflatable, outboard driven, boat
An air powered speargun.
What's this? Some previous user has left you the ultimate clue.
Unfortunately he wrote it in invisible ink. Maybe the mixture to reveal
it is somewhere in the guide.
Mix 1 part each of citric acid, vinegar, any nitrate, and a carbon
compound.
It is entitled 'Who's who and what's what in interactive fiction'.
It has an almost greenish tint to it. Hold on, this is freshwater.
Freshwater has the effect on sharks of making them docile.
The color of the water in the springs.
The color of the Pairot Fish.
The color of your rival's skin.
The color of fire-coral.
This is a large room filled with lots of hi-tech equipment.
It appears to be under attack by a well armed helicopter.
It appears to be endless. One could easily get lost in here.
It looks just like a boat.
According to the natives hideous monsters have been seen around this
rock. Although the terrorists seem to spend a lot of time there.
You can hear the faint murmur of voices from the other side.

Todd: If we don't do something about them, they could give us trouble.
Elder: He's the leader of the terrorists who have taken over this island
for their base of operations.
Merman: He is my creator and gave me the icon as a gift.
Merman: I built it to honour my creator, the Mad Scientist, and you must
not touch it.
Merman: It fell into the sea from my creator's hands.
Parrot: Awk! Beats me, kid.
Parrot: Awk! Use the loran, kid.
Parrot: Awk! Take a look at it, kid.
Parrot: Awk! Fill it up, kid.
Todd: We'll have to find a way to sneak up on him.
Todd: He's the one who shot our plane down.
Todd: They're the other passengers from the plane.
Todd: He tried to make me watch some John Stoneman films.
Todd: She's good looking but ...
Todd: I don't know how they got in. I locked the door.
Todd: Looks like a bomb to me.
Todd: They took it away from me when I was re-captured.
Todd: Great idea. We can disguise ourselves.
Todd: We've got to let the prisoners out.
The Parrot accepts the crackers and eats happily. He appears now to have
taken a liking to you.
Voice: Look, that girl is naked!
You die of embarrassment.
You wake with a start and realize that the booming of thunder was in fact
the booming of nearby explosions.
A missile tears into the hut, blowing it and you to little bits.
The village Elder runs up to you in a panic. He explains that Colonel
Malevic and his terrorists have discovered your hiding place and you must
flee at once and try to reach the dock on the other side of the jungle.
He hands you a knife.
Elder: May the sacred bird guide you.
The Mechanic brandishes the wrench.
Mechanic: I'll bet you're not here to help me fix the boat, right?
The wrench crashes down into your skull.
With a lucky blow you neutralize the Mechanic.
Parrot: Awk! Pretty girl in a swimsuit.
Look out Sports Illustrated!
Cindy: Shut up, cracker breath.
It isn't safe to leave the bridge with the engine running.
With a sickening crunch the boat crashes into a rock at full speed.
Suddenly armed terrorist patrol boats appear and rake your boat with
machine gun fire.
Your presence awakens the Kraken. It's body ripples with excitement.
Your attempt on its body proves to be futile as all you do is make the
thing angry. It retaliates by eating you.
To your considerable surprise, it turns out that the Kraken was merely a
little curious about you, and actually seems to enjoy some playful
contact. You spend several minutes interacting with the creature, but it
soon becomes bored with this and goes back to sleep.
After a few seconds your eyes adjust and you can make out a dim glow
coming from the east.
Merman: You dare to steal my icon!
You have succeeded in making him very angry. He charges towards you.
You turn to flee but he is on you in an instant. Grabbing you by the
throat he proceeds to strangle you.
The Giant Clam senses the lack of weight in its mouth and slams shut.
Unfortunately you were inside it at the time.
You fall back into the grotto with a huge splash.
After attracting a vicious hiss from the snake you change your mind.
The magical force of the talisman sends the snake fleeing into the
undergrowth.
Todd: I'll lock the door so that nobody else can get in.
You give the key to Todd. He locks the door.
A secret exit in the floor has been revealed.
Unfortunately one of Malevic's henchmen was hiding inside of it. He
springs out and drives his knife into your chest.
You suddenly hear footsteps down below.
Todd: Wait here. I'll check it out.
Todd exits.
You can't help but notice a clean area roughly the shape of the cabinet
in the hall.
He seems to be a little tied up right at the moment.
Todd, freed from the rope, removes the gag from his mouth and stands up.
He proceeds to tell you about how he escaped last night and hid here in
the lighthouse. But, this morning, a couple of Malevic's henchmen took
him by surprise while he slept and tied him up till they got instructions
on what to do with him.
Suddenly, from inside the wreck, appears a frogman piloting a UPV.
... a spear shoots from the pneumo and impales the Frogman through the
chest. He dies instantly.
The Frogman appears from the shaft behind you. Looks like you've got only
one shot at this now.
The Frogman overlooked that exit. He drops the upv and chases after you.
The henchman and the diver in the zodiac have their backs you. The diver
is just starting to put on his gear in preparation for a dive.
Diver: I'm going to spear that big JewFish and take it back to the base.
The hungry Jewfish sucks in the kippers and you along with them. You find
yourself inside the stomach of the Jewfish, and boy is it cramped.
or perhaps wait around and watch yourself get digested by the Jewfish.
Wait .. the replay official has just reviewed that call. It is OVERRULED!
You are still alive and well ... for about 10 more turns, since that is
when the stomach acids will arrive to digest you.
The foam from the extinguisher neutralizes the stomach acids.
Moments later a spear penetrates the Jewfish's head inches from yours.
The stomach acid finally arrives and your body disolves.
Wait ... someone is cutting open the Jewfish. You tumble out into ...
Just as you are about to step into the corridor the door to the north
opens and Colonel Malevic, his Mad Scientist friend, and several
terrorists enter.
Malevic: I was hoping he'd tell us the whereabouts of his young friend.
Scientist: Pity. Maybe he will feel differently after watching some
John Stoneman films.
They exit south.
You step cautiously out into the corridor.
At the sight of you the old Cook drops his cleaver and faints.
Parrot: Awk! Shiver me timbers. So that's where little girls come from.
Some Guards enter to investigate the light failure and find you.
Todd: This is getting ridiculous. I should be rescuing you. But, since
you've managed to get this far I might as well follow you.
He waits to see what you plan to do next.
There are too many of them to take on alone.
You and Todd take the guards by surprise and quietly neutralize them.
You explain to Todd that the only way to ensure everyone's escape is to
destroy Malevic's base. He agrees and tells Stephanie to wait here with
the prisoners until she hears an explosion. Then to lead the others to
safety. Stephanie tries to protest but the elevator doors close.
Guard: Hey! You're that kid who's been causing so much trouble.
He reacts quickly by grabbing his pistol and opening fire.
The spear hits the guard right in chest. He collapses.
Parrot: Awk! If you don't tell we won't.
The guard looks up as you enter. He is fooled by your disguise.
Guard: Who are you?
Todd: We're your relief.
Guard: But, I'm not due to be relieved for another hour.
As cell doors open and the prisoners rush out to thank you. You recognize
one of them, as she throws herself into Todd's arms, as Stephanie.
Stephanie: My hero!
Parrot: Awk! Gotta a barf bag, kid?
A loud explosion rocks the powerhouse as the bomb goes off.
Unfortunately the elevator doors were open at the time.
The elevator suddenly comes to a gut wrenching halt.
Todd: The blast has knocked out the elevator.
Parrot: Awk! Powerhouse.
The elevator descends several levels, stops, and opens its doors.
Parrot: Awk! Airfield. Awk! And step on it.
The elevator starts to ascend.
Shortly the doors open and you rush into ...
Unfortunately it goes the wrong way. Right into the waiting inferno.
The Technician sees you enter and runs for the alarm switch.
Todd: Quick! Stop him!
He screams in pain and collapses to the ground.
He reaches the alarm. Seconds later guards storm in and open fire.
The timer starts ticking. You have about 5 turns to get away.
You discover Colonel Malevic and his Mad Scientist friend about to board
the helicopter. Malevic spots you and orders the terrorists to open fire.
You and Todd quickly dive for cover.
Cindy: They're trying to get away in that helicopter!
Todd: That could be our only way out as well.
Unfortunately you can't get close enough to use that weapon.
Remember that bullet you used to kill the technician. Well, as it turns
out that leaves Todd one bullet short.
The flare hits the Scientist's oxygen supply which explodes.
After the smoke clears all you can see are dead terrorists and a still
functional helicopter.
The helicopter explodes into flaming fragments one of which strikes you
in the head.
Unfortunately this sends the terrorists into a vengeful fury.
The spear only wounds him. He climbs into the helicopter for safety.
The pilot looks up as you enter. Todd points the pistol at him.
Todd: Fly us out of here, and fast.
Pilot: Sure thing. I'm not dumb enough to hang around here.
The helicopter lifts off and heads away from the base.
That's a dumb thing to do while in flight. You fall to your death.
A huge explosion rocks the helicopter as the base blows sky high sending
rock and other debris crashing into the aircraft.
Pilot: We're badly damaged but I think I can land ...
A piece of metal suddenly shatters the windshield and kills the pilot.
The helicopter is now spiraling out of control as Todd hauls the pilot
out of the seat and takes hold of the controls.
Cindy: Do you know how to fly this thing?
Todd: No. Do you?
Cindy: No.
Parrot: Awk! Abandon ship, abandon ship.
Explosive charges blow the canopy clear as the ejector seats fire.
Unfortunately you weren't sitting in one at the time.
Seatbelts save lives you know. Try wearing one.
You and Todd are shot clear of the helicopter and parachute down ...
Great, you've found the windshield wipers. Now you can clearly see the
ocean coming up to meet you as the helicopter crashes into it.
You land in the water and become tangled in the parachute. Seeing your
predicament Todd wades in and frees you. Picking you up he proceeds to
carry you up to the beach.
Todd: Enjoy it, Cindy. This is my first chance to pick you up.
His choice of words make you wonder if he's hinting at something.
Todd: Sorry, kid. I thought you liked me.
He puts you down and walks away to look for Stephanie.
You are so upset at missing your big chance you could just die.
In fact you decide to add to the teen-suicide rate by drowning yourself.
Nervously you kiss Todd squarely on the lips and discover to your delight
that he likes you after all. Embracing you in his arms he proceeds to
give you one of those breath taking kisses that you've always dreamed
about. Secretly, you hope that a rescue party doesn't arrive for a good
long time!
*** Congratulations! You have successfully completed the story! ***
The Kraken makes some tentative probes of your body with its cold slimy
tentacles.
After receiving some painful burns from the tan coloured coral lining
the shaft you change your mind and go back.
